On-call RN, Wellness Services

Employment Status

Non-exempt, ongoing on-call, 9-month position as needed

Position Summary

The on-call RN will work in the absence of University Wellness Center RN staff on an as-needed basis and will perform the essential duties and functions of a RN. The on-call RN will provide direct patient care and health education to university students and other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

1. Provides direct patient care through assessment, use of protocols or physician consultation
2. Provides health education for patients
3. Maintains and supports all clinic operations
4. Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Certification/License: Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in Missouri
Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills; abililty to function autonomously as a self-starter in a fast-paced environment; commitment to excellence in all aspects of care delivery

Preferred Qualifications

Experience: Clinic and/or college health experience

Working Conditions

Pleasant air-conditioned environment in a modern, self-contained medical center

Equipment/Materials Used

Microscope, computer, nebulizer, spirometry, copier and fax

Typical Physical Demands

Ability to move quickly, able to lift heavy boxes and lift patients

Date Available

Approximately August 31, 2009 on an as-needed basis
