Professional/Administrative Staff - Job Description

Position

Web Developer, Information Systems

Employment Status

Exempt, 12-month, full-time position

Position Summary

Develop Web/MS Windows software applications to enhance Northwest Missouri State University’s administrative operations, Web site and Web content management system

Essential Functions

  1. Using a thorough knowledge of programming and server software operations, needed to develop custom MS Windows or Web programs written in languages such as Java, C#, ASP.net
  2. Create backened server processes and utilities to enhance web server functionality
  3. Maintain application software upgrades/installs on web and content management servers
  4. Create Web front-end user interfaces to new or existing databases using a combination of HTML and SQL to make business applications web accessible

Minimum Qualifications

Education: B.S. degree in a related field
Experience: One year minimum experience as Web Developer or Webmaster
Skills: Must be proficient in content management system using relational database; must be proficient in HTML, SQL, Java, ASP or JSP; experience in Window, IIS environment; able to carry out more than one project; be highly organized and self-motivated

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Master's degree
Experience: Two years or more as Web Developer

Working Conditions

Comfortable professional office setting in University Administration Building

Supervisory Responsibilities

Assist in oversight of Univeristy Relations' Web team

Typical Physical Demands

Requires many hours sitting, using computer
