Professional/Administrative Staff - Job Description

Position

Junior Multimedia Developer, Information Systems

Employment Status

Exempt, 12-month, full-time position

Position Summary

Creation and maintenance of multimedia (Flash) applications for the Northwest Missouri State University's web site as well as assisting in the general maintenance of the University's content management system and web site

Essential Functions

  1. Work closely with many University departments to create and maintain customized multimedia applications using Adobe Flash
  2. Assist in maintaining the current University web site and related technologies
  3. Work closely with information services on technical aspects of web design
  4. Assist in oversight of Unviersity Relations Web Team
  5. Work closely with the Office of University Relations to design and implement the aesthetic look and feel for the University web pages

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Interactive Digital Media, Computer Science or related field
Skills: Combination of strong programming and visual design skills using Adobe Flash; Proficient in ActionScript 2.0, ActionScript 3.0, HTML, CSS and Javascript; Knowledge of web and design principles and conceptual development; Understanding of site functionality, site architecture, data flow and user interfaces; Ability to carry out more than on project at a time; Highly organized and self-motivated

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Master's degree in related field
Experience: One year or more as Flash Developer or related field; Familiarity with Hannon Hill's content management software, Cascade Server
Skills: Knowledgeable in Adobe Flex and AIR programming

Working Conditions

Comfortable proferssional office setting in University Administration Building

Requires many hours sitting, using computer
