Contract Terms

Non-tenure track position

Position Summary

Collaborative pianist and instructor of music appreciation and/or other courses as needed

Essential Functions

  1. Accompany three choral ensembles
  2. Accompany selected students and faculty members
  3. Teach music appreciation, class piano or other classes as needed depending on load

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Master's degree
Skills: The successful candidate must have excellent piano skills and be an effective classroom teacher

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Doctorate or ABD in Music
Experience: Successful experience as a collaborative pianist and as a classroom teacher
Skills: Effective use of piano laboratory

Working Conditions

Typical university classroom, office and piano laboratory conditions

Equipment/Materials Used

Pianos and common classroom teaching equipment

Typical Physical Demands

Ability to complete essential functions in the studio and classroom
