Position Summary |
A nine-month, tenure track faculty position responsible for providing quality instruction in undergraduate level housing, home equipment, home interiors and merchandising courses |

Essential Functions |

Minimum Qualifications |
Education: M.S. or ABD in areas to teach classes in furnishings, home interiors, home equipment and housing |
|
Preferred Qualifications |
Education: Ph.D. in Housing and Furnishings related area; Preference will be given to candidates who have an emphasis in a second content area of Family and Consumer Sciences |
|
Working Conditions |
Collegial, team-based, modern academic environment with individual faculty office (Internet access); Classrooms provide electronic teaching stations; A 12 station computer laboratory is provided for specialized use in teaching classes |

Equipment/Materials Used |
Faculty are issued a personal notebook computer, document camera, LCD projector and video equipment are available for instruction. Faculty also have the opportunity to use eCompanion to assist instruction. |

Typical Physical Demands |
Ability to complete essential classroom functions. Must be able to project voice to teach classes of 20 - 40 students. |

Department |
The Family and Consumer Sciences Department has 7 full-time faculty and offers BS degrees in Child and Family Studies, Foods and Nutrition and Merchandising of Textiles, Apparel and Furnishings. A B.S.Ed. degree is available in Vocational Family and Consumer Sciences Education. The department serves approximately 180 undergraduate students in these majors, another 50 undergraduates in the minors available throught the department. |
