Position

On-call LPN, Health Services

Employment Status

Non-exempt, as needed, ongoing on-call position

Position Summary

The on-call LPN will work in the absence of University Wellness Center LPN staff on an as-needed basis and will perform the essential duties and functions of a LPN. The on-call LPN will provide direct patient care and health education to university students and other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

  1. Conducts intake and assessment of patients
  2. Performs patient care, education and documentation based upon physician direction and/or established protocols
  3. Performs laboratory testing, phlebotomy and specimen collection
  4. Monitors inventory and maintains supplies and equipment
  5. Assists with front office work when necessary
  6. Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Completion of LPN program, high school diploma
Certification/License: Missouri LPN licensure
Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; competent in basic assessment, patient care and comprehensive documentation

Preferred Qualifications

Experience: Outpatient clinic experience; college health and health education
Skills: Ability to work with minimal supervision

Working Conditions

Pleasant air-conditioned envrionment in a modern, self-contained medical center

Equipment/Materials Used

Microscope, computer, phone, spirometer, nebulizer, tympanogram, oximeter, audiometer

Typical Physical Demands

Requires ability to move quickly, tolerate long periods of standing, lifting up to 50 pounds

Date Available

Immediately on an as-needed basis
