Part-Time School-Age Supervisor & ECEL Center Office Manager, Family & Consumer Sciences: ECEL Center

Employment Status

Exempt, part-time position

Position Summary

Part-Time School-Age Child Care Supervisor in the ECEL Center and Part-Time ECEL Center Office Manager

Essential Functions

  1. Provide care and instruction for children
  2. Supervise teaching assistants
  3. Plan activities and lessons
  4. Participate in staff meetings
  5. Keep and post records of attendance
  6. General office duties: answer phone, send out correspondence, record keeping

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Minimum of 60 hours of undergraduate coursework in Child & Family Studies, Early Childhood Education or degree in Education
Experience: Previous work experience with children ages 6-12 years old
Skills: Developing activities and lessons age appropriate for children; ability to interact effectively with children and parents; ability to assume leadership roles and working with teaching assistants; ability to organize and manage office

Preferred Qualifications

Education: B.S. degree in Child & Family Studies or B.S. degree in Education
Experience: Working in early care and/or educational settings for children

Working Conditions

Will work with Bearcat Club Afterschool program June 8 - July 31 from 12:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. (Monday -Thursday), then beginning August 31 from 2:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. (Monday - Friday); Manage office on a regular set schedule; Must be able to lift 50 pounds and be actively involved in play with children

Supervisory Responsibilities

Oversee and manage children; Supervise teaching assistants; Manage the ECEL Center office

Equipment/Materials Used

Standard classroom and playground equipment, Microsoft Office 2007, Easy Care office manager

Typical Physical Demands

Must be active and able to lift up to 50 pounds
