Position

Instructor, Computer Science/Information Systems

Contract Terms

Full-time, nine-month position

Position Summary

One faculty position in Computer Science or Management Information Systems within the Computer Science/Information Systems Department at the Instructor level

Essential Functions

  1. Teach courses in computer applications, computer science, management information systems, multimedia, and/or related classes at the undergraduate level
  2. Advise students in these areas
  3. Participate in department activities including curriculum development and service activities
  4. Conduct applied research in these areas

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Master's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a technology related area
Skills: Be able to teach undergraduate courses in computer applications, computer science, management information systems, multimedia and/or related areas

The Computer Science/Information Systems department resides in the Booth College of Business and Professional Studies along with four other departments.

Department

The Computer Science/Information Systems department has approximately 200 undergraduate majors, 100 graduate students, and 12 full-time faculty members with several undergraduate programs, including computer science, interactive digital media, management information systems, business education, business technology and master's programs in applied computer science and instructional technology. Courses are taught in a sophisticated electronic classroom using an active learning instructional paradigm.
