Grade Levels Previously Taught
I started my teaching career in
Omaha, Nebraska where I taught 4th grade for two year. My husband and I moved to Kansas City where I
taught 3rd grade with Liberty Public Schools for 3 years. Since being at Horace Mann I have taught 3rd grade, K-6 Special Education and now 4th grade.
Areas of Special Interest
- Utilizing technology in the
classroom that incorporates inquiry based learning
- Cooperative learning
- Mentoring practicum and graduate
students
- Grant writing
- Most recently, I assisted in writing a National Science Foundation
grant in mathematics education to develop curriculum based around technology.
Favorite Thing About Teaching
My favorite thing about teaching
is working with my students. I love
spending my days watching children learn and grow…they are such a gift. I love using technology to enhance my
teaching and the learning of my students.
Hobbies/Free-time Activities
In my free time I love spending
time with my husband Andy and my daughter Schia. I love to read, blog, and run. I love Husker football. I love going out to dinner with friends!
