Student Involvement

Student involvement and service learning are essential components of the learning environment at Horace Mann. Students have a variety of opportunities to become involved in the school community as well as the community at large.

Students can begin to participate in Student Council as representatives as early as first grade. Students can advance to running for Student Council offices in fourth through sixth grades. Participation in Student Council offers students an opportunity to learn valuable leadership skills.

In addition to Student Council, Horace Mann students frequently participate in service learning opportunities. Students raise money for charitable organizations, participate in food drives, and volunteer for community betterment activities.

Students also have the opportunity to become involved in Bearcat Choir, Jump Rope for Heart, math contest, speech contest, geography contest, D.A.R.E, poster contests, and many other activities throughout the school year.
