Student Involvement

Student involvement and service learning are essential components of the learning environment at Horace Mann. Students have a variety of opportunities to become involved in the school community as well as the community at large.

There are countless opportunities for students to make a difference on our world. The Leadership Challenge offers our students the opportunity to take the initiative and make a difference. All students can be leaders and The Student Leadership Challenge is about helping our students learn the practices to transform their values into actions, visions into reality, obstacles into innovations, individuality into collaboration and risks into rewards.

Students will have many opportunities to practice their leadership skills at Horace Mann. Service learning projects are important components of our school community. Students raise money for charitable organizations, participate in food drives, and volunteer for community betterment activities.

Students also have the opportunity to become involved in Bearcat Choir, Jump Rope for Heart, math contest, speech contest, geography contest, D.A.R.E., poster contests, and many other activities throughout the school year.
