Mozingo Outdoor Education Recreation Area (MOERA)

The Mozingo Outdoor Education Recreation Area (MOERA) is a 320 acre parcel of land situated on beautiful Mozingo Lake. MOERA is operated by the Department of Health and Human Services and provides a variety of outdoor education and recreation opportunities, including:

  • The MOERA Challenge Course
  • Shooting Sports (Trap and Archery)
  • Canoes and Kayaks
  • Other Outdoor Experiences
  • Observatory (operated by the Department of Natural Sciences)
  • Outdoor Research Areas (conducted by a variety of departments)

We are dedicated to providing safe, fun, and engaging experiential education opportunities, whether you are interested in learning new outdoor skills, staying physically active, or developing teamwork, communication, or leadership skills.
