Welcome to the Northwest Missouri State University chapter of NAƒME, National Association for Music Education, chapter 198. Chapter meetings are held biweekly to discuss business. Once a month a program night is held that addresses an important topic in Music Education. Some programs that have been addressed have been music technology, classroom management, student teaching, and world music.
Our chapter of NAƒME provides services to our university and community. These services include a Junior High Solo and Ensemble Contest. The goal of Junior High Contest is to give an opportunity to middle school students in our area so that they may gain performance experience in front of adjudicators, peers, and parents.
NAƒME at Northwest has provided remote private lessons during the pandemic and promoted the national "Music in Our Schools Month" to regional music educators.
Meetings occur bi-weekly at 5:45pm in Fine Arts Room 200.
