The M.S.Ed. program is a 42-hour program developed to prepare graduates to work as professional counselors in elementary and/or secondary schools. The Guidance & Counseling program trains graduate students in the developmental approach to school counseling and in one of its derivatives, the Missouri Comprehensive Guidance Program. Using a developmental approach, the program focuses on the three primary functions of the modern school counselor: consultation, coordination, and counseling.
Thre are 11 additional hours of coursework for candidates who do not hold a teaching degree.
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for admission:
42 hours; all classes are 3 hours unless noted otherwise
