Background Check
Criminal background checks (CBC) are only good for one
year. All Northwest student teachers MUST complete a Missouri CBC
regardless of what state you are student teaching. You must create a DESE
profile following the instructions on the link below. Once you have been
“cleared”, you need to get a copy of this profile to the educational leadership
office stating that you have been cleared. We will give you your school
code upon placement to use when completing your CBC. The school which
matches the code you use will receive a copy of your background results.
Those student teaching outside MO should use 999999 as the code. In
addition to the link below showing instructions on how to set up your profile
are links to show fingerprint instructions and a link to set up an appointment
online. The average time for completion is two weeks.
