Welcome to the Department of Marketing/Management!
As one of the largest departments on campus, our department consists of approximately 800 degree- seeking majors, fifteen full-time and several part-time faculty, three graduate assistants, and two student workers. Our students can earn degrees in Business Management, International Business, or Marketing and we also offer a General Business Minor degree to students majoring in non-business disciplines. All our degree programs are Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) accredited.
Our faculty, who have advanced degrees and business experience, are highly student-focused. We currently teach over 50 individual courses each semester, several of which are online, and consistently have among the highest level of student satisfaction on campus. You can safely conclude that we love what we do and it shows―in both student satisfaction and demand for our courses.
To prepare students for the careers they'll encounter upon graduation, we have designed each major curriculum to provide in-depth content knowledge. Further, learning experiences are embedded throughout a student's academic career, to ensure they'll obtain additional skills desired by today's business practitioners. In addition to learning discipline-specific content, our students acquire skills in critical thinking, oral and written communication, ethical decision-making, teamwork, and problem solving. And because we believe it is important to prepare students for their careers by actively engaging them in activities connected to their chosen profession, we sponsor several business-related, professional student organizations. For example, the American Marketing Association, Delta Epsilon Chi, Delta Mu Delta, the Society of Human Resource Management, and Students in Free Enterprise are all sponsored by faculty in our department.
Once again, welcome to our website and we hope you enjoy your visit. Should the opportunity present itself, we would love to serve your academic needs and help prepare you for your business career.
