If so, you might have the right stuff to be a Marketing Major at Northwest.
arketing is the process of understanding and satisfying customer needs. Advertising, personal selling, determining customer groups to target, making products available in stores, and maintaining inventories are just a few marketing activities that help organizations sell their products/services. Organizations adopting a customer orientation constantly seek to satisfy their customers by understanding how to best cater to their needs. For example, if customers prefer brand names like Nautica and Tommy Helfiger in Europe, how can Levi-Strauss obtain a substantial share of the college student market? Should they advertise more? If so, in which media? These are questions marketing majors strive to answer.
Recommended high school preparation for a degree in Marketing includes courses that stress computer, analytical, written, and oral communication skills. Also, active participation in clubs, organizations, and work experience is encouraged. If you plan to transfer from a community college, you should take courses that satisfy Northwest's general education requirements. Only those business courses outlined in the Undergraduate Catalog will transfer to Northwest.
