The Abilities Laboratory is an auxiliary agent of the Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance Department at Northwest Missouri State University. It serves as both a student resource/learning center and as a community service program. It provides students, faculty, staff, and the northwest Missouri community in general with facilities, equipment, testing and prescription services to examine human ability and disability. As a part of its services, the Abilities Laboratory, also provides students and the community with both "out reach" and "in-house" leisure and or recreation education activity programs. These programs are designed to both give students "hands on experience" in human service and to provide opportunities for individuals and or groups from the northwest Missouri community to participate in a variety of student lead recreation education and leisure experiences, regardless of age, experience, or ability. The Abilities Laboratory is located on the Northwest Missouri State University Campus, in the lower level of the Lamkin Activity center, room 049. The phone number for the Abilities Laboratory is (816) 562-1785.
