Dr. Eiswert received his Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Leuven, Belgium in 1986. Currently an Associate Professor of Philosophy at Northwest, he has published various articles in philosophy and presented papers in the areas of philosophy of science and logic, as well as in the area of didactics and technology.
Complimenting his regular teaching duties, Dr. Eiswert has been active in the development of online versions of Introduction to Philosophy and Introduction to Ethics. His regular teaching cycle includes Philosophy of Science, Philosophy of Religion, Epistemology, and Logic.
Besides his interest in philosophy, he has a passion for theater and has worked with the Nodaway Community Theatre Company as well as with the Northwest Theater directing Northwest's presentation of The Crucible, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, and acting in numerous other plays.
Serving on numerous Northwest committees over the years, Dr. Eiswert has co-chaired the Student Faculty Discipline Committee for the last six. In addition, he is moderator of various student organizations/chapters including Amnesty International, Students for a Free Tibet, and the newly formed American Civil Liberties Organization. Dr. Eiswert as received numerous awards including Missouri's Governor's Award for Teaching Excellence in November 2001.
