Sigma Tau Delta, an English honorary society, inducts new members each year. Members at Northwest have the opportunity to share their love of literature and rhetoric, composition and critical theory, creative writing and English education with like-minded peers.
The Laurel Review and Greentower Press host an annual chapbook competition for Midwestern writers. The Laurel Review, which is published twice each year, features some of the best poetry, fiction and creative nonfiction by both emerging and established voices.
The Visiting Writers Series brings to Northwest's campus poets and writers for public readings. Upcoming events include readings by Kate Greenstreet, Carrie Adams, Diana Joseph and Greg Wren.
The Writing Center is located on the second floor of the Owens Library. It provides tutoring services and assistance for writers of all abilities.
