Nancy Mayer

Dr. Nancy Mayer

Ph.D. in Literary Studies, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee

Nancy Mayer teaches American literature and composition. She specializes in American literature before 1865 and obsesses about Emily Dickinson. Dr. Mayer has articles and book reviews published or forthcoming on Dickinson, Dickinson and Victorian women novelists, transatlantic Romanticism, and the contemporary poet Marilyn Hacker. An article, "Reloaded: Reading an Old Poem As If It Matters," leads off the Spring 2005 issue of The Hudson Review. Her poems have appeared in River Styx, Spoon River Poetry Review, and on posters on the St. Louis Metro.
