Brenda Ryan

M.A. English, Northwest Missouri State University

Brenda Ryan teaches Composition 111 and 112, Advanced Composition, Introduction to Literature, and Multiethnic Literature of the United States. Special interests include composition pedagogy and multicultural literature, particularly the Native American authors Wendy Rose, Nasdiji, and Sherman Alexie. Ms. Ryan is active on the Composition Committee and the Teacher Preparation Committee. She advises English education majors and observes student teaching. She is associate editor of New Wine, the magazine of secondary school writing published by the Northwest Missouri State English Department, and she is co-sponsor of Phi Eta Sigma Freshman Honor Society.
