University Faculty Experience

Assistant Professor, Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis, College of Education, University of Missouri-Columbia (2002-present). Adjunct Graduate Faculty Member. Responsible for teaching graduate courses, co-advising doctoral students, co-directing doctoral dissertations and conducting research.

Assistant Professor, Educational Leadership, College of Education, Northwest Missouri State University (2000-present). Member of Graduate Faculty. Responsible for teaching graduate courses, advising master’s students, co-advising doctoral students and co-directing doctoral dissertations, and conducting research.

University Administrative Experience

Chair, Department of Educational Leadership, Northwest Missouri State University (August 24, 2005-present). Responsibilities include providing leadership for eleven faculty members and master’s, educational specialist, and doctoral program in the area of Educational Administration.

Assistant Director of Professional Education Unit, Northwest Missouri State University (2004-present). In this role, responsibilities include providing leadership and working with education chairs and program directors, facilitating the coming together of curriculum, policy and procedures for teacher education and educational leadership programs.

Coordinator of Accreditation, Northwest Missouri State University (2001-2005). Coordinator in charge of National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education accreditation processes and documents. Responsibilities included establishing policies and practices based on data for continuous improvement. Additionally, provided leadership and guidance for the development of a standards based assessment system. Responsible for facilitating a technology based visit and writing of the Institutional Report.

Director, Teacher Education Student Services, College of Education and Human Services, Northwest Missouri State University (2000-2002). Responsibilities included providing information and assisting student in entering the College of Education. Monitoring processes and criteria required to progress through the College of Education to certification. Providing reports of individual candidate and aggregated data to decision making bodies of the college of education was another responsibility of this position.

Public School Faculty and Administrative Experience

Assistant Principal, Central High School, St. Joseph School District, St. Joseph, Missouri (1981-2000). Responsible for instructional leadership, supervising teachers, staff and 9-12 students. Provided leadership for staff development, 504 Coordinator, and leader for two North Central Visits. Participated in school improvement initiatives, wrote grants and provided direction for curriculum development and other duties as assigned.

Principal, Fillmore C-I Junior and High School, Fillmore, Missouri (1975-1981). Responsibilities included leadership in policy development, compliance with the law, curriculum development and instructional assessment. Prepared agendas and budget for board of education meetings. Provided accreditation leadership in meeting state requirements, and supervising teachers, staff and 7-12 students. Lead school improvement initiatives, wrote grants and other duties as assigned.

Teacher, Vocational Home Economics, Fillmore C-I School, Fillmore, Missouri (1970-1975). Taught six classes of 7-12 vocational home economics.

National

Recognized for Christa McAuliff Award. Presented at American Association of State Colleges and Universities (2006). Co-authored application for the award and leader/coordinator for initiatives instrument in award achievement.

National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) Citation for Distinguished Professional Service. Received for service as Region 6 Representative providing leadership in establishing policy and direction for professional development of school leaders (1999).
