Hello, my name is Pat Immel, I have been a faculty member at Northwest Missouri State University since 1998. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Radio / TV / Film from the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh and my Master of Fine Arts Degree in Lighting Design from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Some of my most recent designs include lighting for "CATS" and "I Love You You're Perfect, Now Change!" at McLeod Summer Playhouse, and scenery and lighting for "Godspell", "The Laramie Project", "12th. Night", "The Diviners" and "Ah Wilderness!". I am a member of the United States Institute for Theatre Technology were I serve as editor for "Technical Source Guide". I enjoy using the software program, Vectorworks, to communicate my design ideas in both 2D and 3D.
My wife Theresa also works at Northwest in the Graduate office. We have two children, Madison, nine and Michael six, who both attend the Horace Mann Laboratory School on the Northwest campus. I am a HUGE Green Bay Packers fan (when you grow up one hour south of GB, you don't have a choice!) and a fan of the band U2. My hobbies include doing things with my family and tending to my mp3 collection.
I enjoy working at Northwest Missouri State University because I am allowed to practice the art and craft of theatre, while getting paid to do it! I enjoy teaching young theatre artists. My goal is to help nurture the creative spark and to help the student begin a rewarding theatrical career of their own!
