CTL Facilities
The Department of Communication,
Theatre, and Languages operates out of some of the finest
facilities on the Northwest campus. Theatre offices and two
performance spaces are located in the Performing Arts Center,
which opened in 1984. Seating 1,100, the Mary Linn
Auditorium's main stage is large enough to accommodate a
symphony orchestra or a major ballet company.
The theater boasts state-of-the-art lighting, two sound booths, and a large scene
shop. Below the stage are four dressing rooms, a "green"
room, costume shop, wardrobe storage, prop storage, classroom space, and the
Studio Theater. The studio is a flexible space for
staging innovative and experimental productions and is also
used for classroom activities.
Theatre students also perform in the Charles Johnson Theater
located in the Olive DeLuce Fine Arts Building. This space
can accommodate most major productions and seats over
600.

information.
The main academic department office and most classrooms are
located in Wells Hall. Formerly home to the University
Library and rich with tradition, Wells Hall also houses the
Department of Mass Communication (which often combines
efforts with our department to film various events and
activities). The student newspaper, yearbook, television
station and two radio stations are also located in Wells
Hall.
