This major meets Missouri certification standards for grades 9-12 and is designed for students who want to teach speech and/or theatre at the high school level, and/or direct theatre programs and coach forensics teams. This degree pro
veds you with the background necessary for professional theatre, communication training and graduate school. Often, graduates with the B.S. Ed. continue to perform, do technical work, or pursure gradute study and teach and direct at the college level. Many program options are available, one of which leads to certification in speech/theatre as well as a second area of your choice, like Math, English, or Modern Language.
