Gary Ury

Gary Ury has taught for the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri since 1994 and received his Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Missouri – Columbia in May of 2003. His Master of Business Administration and undergraduate degrees were both earned at Northwest Missouri State University. Prior to entering the field of teaching he spent 22 years as an insurance broker and independent computer and information system consultant. He retired from the Missouri Army National Guard at the end of 1997 where his primary responsibilities revolved around the evolution of computerized field artillery fire direction control and information systems for battalion level tracking of personnel, training, and supplies. Dr. Ury’s teaches in the areas of visual application development, information systems, and decision support systems. He views today’s educational process as a partnership between the students and the instructor in which all parties continue to learn and grow.
