Personal Development and Counseling Services at Northwest Missouri State University is a vital resource that can help students reach their full potential. We are located in the Wellness Services. Students use our services because they want to improve the way they live, learn, and grow. College is a perfect time to make changes in your life, consider who you are and who you want to be, and build on your strengths so you can fully flourish and thrive. PDC services are committed to promoting personal development and helping students to overcome obstacles that may interfere their relationships and academic progress. The PDC is staffed by licensed psychologists and counselors who will help you to get the most out of your college experience.

Mission Statement

The Personal Development and Counseling services team is dedicated to creating a positive, healthy campus environment and to helping students learn to incorporate principles of wellness into their lives. We strive to develop and offer services designed to assist students to acquire those skills, attitudes, and resources necessary to both succeed in the college environment and pursue productive and enriching lives. We work hand-in-hand with students to provide an atmosphere which promotes their academic, personal, and social development. Our commitment is to help each student have a rewarding and successful experience at Northwest Missouri State University. We also actively contribute to the campus' broader academic mission by training and developing students and professionals, helping build a intercultural learning community and by developing collaborative campus and community partnerships.
