We are an authorized testing center for a number of state and national testing companies. We offer various examinations such as ACT, C-Base, GRE, Praxis Series, CLEP, MAT, GED and School Leaders Licensure Assessment.

Standby registration for GRE is permitted on a first come, first-served basis, provided there is sufficient seating and test materials. Not all subject tests are administered on a given testing date; therefore, standby registration is not available for those tests on that date. If no one has registered to take ANY of the subject tests prior to the registration deadline, the GRE subject tests will not be offered on that test date. It is strongly advised that you contact Kersten Haugse White either at 660.562.1220 or at khwhite@nwmissouri.edu during the office hours of (8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday) within 48 hours of the testing date to determine if there is a possibility of admittance as a standby. THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT A PERSON WHO PLANS ON STANDY REGISTRATION WILL BE PERMITTED TO TAKE THE EXAM. For further information, please refer to the GRE Bulletin or the GRE Web site listed above.

CLEP (College Level Examination Program)

Examinees registering for General Exams need to register two weeks prior to testing, but those registering for Subject Exams must register three weeks prior to testing. Call the Administrative Secretary at 660.562.1220 to register. For more information regarding the CLEP exam you may visit www.collegboard.com. Review pages 19-20 of the Academic Calendar to see what subjects are offered and accepted at Northwest. These pages also list Northwest's course equivalent.

MAT (Miller Analogies Test)

Call the Administrative Secretary at 660.562.1220 to register. Seating is very limited; therefore, you are encouraged to schedule early.

GED (General Education Development Test)

Application forms are available from the Adult Basic Education Office, located in Thompson Ringold or from:

Applications must be sent to Mr. Bill Poteet at the above address. Upon receipt of authorization, examinees must call the Administrative Secretary at 660.562.1220 to schedule an appointment to test. Seating is very limited, therefore you are encouraged to schedule early.

Cost: $20.00 to the State Department of Education (sent with application), $20.00 cash or money order only to Northwest Missouri State University (paid at the time of testing).

Special Editions: Special editions of the GED Tests and special accommodations for candidates with documented physical and learning disabilities will be made available upon request. Call the Administrative Secretary at 660.562.1220 in advance to make arrangements or obtain further information.

All examinees must be at the Wellness Center, no later than 8 a.m. on the days of the exam. Since facilities for testing are limited, it is very important you notify the testing office if you cannot make your scheduled test date.

All Other Tests

Tests such as those given for teacher accreditation in other states, testing for other institutions, scholarship applications, or employment purposes, etc.

Cost: Varies, depending upon test administered.

Northwest Missouri State University belongs to KC REACHE, an alliance of Kansas City area colleges and universities. KC REACHE colleges and universities have opened their testing centers to all KC REACHE students. If your online instructor requires you to go to campus to take exams, you can utilize a testing center nearest you by taking your exam at another member campus.
