Personal File Backup

Northwest Missouri State University is not responsible for supporting backing up (copying) personal files on campus-issued computing equipment such as notebook computers. The user is solely responsible for backing up (copying) personal files to an alternative storage device such as a USB drive or a SkyDrive account.  Personal files include files like spreadsheets, word processing documents, music files and images.

All users are encouraged to back-up (copy) important personal files frequently to prevent loss of information due to hardware or software failure.  For more information on backing up your personal files, see the URL:  www.nwmissouri.edu/compserv/ClientComputing/pccare/index.htm

Alternative storage devices (other than the network storage folder provided to faculty and staff and the Microsoft cloud storage provided to students) are not provided by Northwest’s Information Technology department.  The user is responsible for purchasing such devices.  Microsoft determines space and policies on their SkyDrive (student personal file storage) and Office 365 (Student Email) cloud service and is subject to change and their procedures.
