If I have a firewall, what port should be open?
TCP 3389 Port for RDP must be open on your firewall to successfully use the Remote Desktop Connection.
How do I change my email password with the Remote Desktop Connection?
Changing your email password via the Remote Desktop Connection is simple. Once you log onto the Remote Desktop Connection with your Northwest Network (email) username and password, the Remote Desktop Connection will automatically prompt you to change your password if it is expired.
If your password is not yet expired, but you want to change it in advance of its expiration, simply log onto the Remote Desktop Connection, click Start, click Settings and then click Windows Security.
Note: Passwords must meet Homeland Security guidelines, which require 3 of 4 criteria to be met. Those criteria are:
- Lowercase alphabetic letters
- Numbers
- One uppercase alphabtic letter
- Special character (See Examples below)
- ! (Exclamation)
- # (Pound)
- * (Asterisk)
- $ (Dollar)
- % (Percent)
- _ (Underscore)
- @ (At)
- & (And)
- + (Plus)
