Due to the 20th Anniversary of The Electronic Campus, Information Systems (IS) entered a departmental float in the 2007 Homecoming Parade. The theme of the 2007 Homecoming Parade was "Bobby Bearcat Goes Around the World."
The IS float, which was entitled "The Electronic Campus: Connecting Bearcats Around the World", won 5th place in the Competitive Float Division.
The float was made possible through the cooperation of the International Students Organization (IS) and the International Intercultural Affairs office (IIC). Students from China, India, Mexico, Mongolia, Nigeria, Japan and other countries participated.
The IS Float Coordinator Co-chairs were Client Computing User Consultants, Kim Todd and Tabatha Verbick.
Float construction assistance was provided by Manager of Client Computing, Merlin Miller, and by Client Computing student employees, Kyle Andrew, Cody Melton, Allen Long, Bayo Adio and Luke Polson. Vice-President of Information Systems, Dr. John Rickman, pulled the float with his antique, fully-restored John Deere tractor.
