Northwest Missouri State University

All students living in campus housing are provided with a notebook computer.

Welcome to the Campus Notebook Computer Program

Starting Fall 2008, full-time undergraduate (12 or more credit hours) and graduate students (9 or more credit hours) living on or off campus, will be provided with a Hewlett Packard (HP) 6515 wireless-ready notebook computer.

Also, starting Fall 2008, part-time undergraduate or graduate students will have the option of renting a wireless-ready notebook computer each trimester for a rental fee of $50.00.

Several wireless "hotspots" are located around campus including those found in student lounges and common areas like J.W. Jones Student Union, the Station, and B.D. Owens Library, The Station student life center and other facilities. Northwest also helped set up an off-campus wireless cafe in The Hangar, a cinema multiplex and restaurant on South Main Street in Maryville.

Northwest's campus intranet allows students to search the library, chat on bulletin boards, check their bills, enroll in classes, create an employment file through Career Services, find a campus job, send and receive e-mail, create their own home page and much more.

This site will provide you more information about the campus notebook computer program and will detail how you can pick-up your notebook if you are living on campus or how you can rent a notebook today.

In 2005, more than 2,200 notebook computers were distributed to students signaling the beginning of a new Northwest notebbok computer program that provided a  wireless-ready notebook computer to every student living on campus. Students living off-campus had the opportunity to rent similar notebook computers for the trimester.
