Northwest Missouri State University

About the Center

Welcome | Advisory Board

What is the Center?

Northwest launched a regional economic development initiative in 2010, the Dean L. Hubbard Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The Center has two synergistic components: a mixed-use incubator and an academic facility. The incubator is designed to house several start-up companies; the academic facility has been programmed to house the nanotechnology baccalaureate degree program.

The Center is a mixed-use incubator with emphasis on technology-based, start-up companies. The CIE provides assistance to existing small businesses and encourages development of new small businesses.

Description of the Facility

The Center contains a total of 46,679 sq. ft. The incubator contains three lab analysis research areas, a shared scientific instrument room, 9,000 sq. ft. of tenant office space, shipping/receiving (product distribution center), staff training room, seminar room and CIE staff offices. The academic wing contains over 16,000 sq. ft. of highly specialized teaching and research labs and offices.

Lab Services Available

Analytical services are available for research or commercial use. Contact Dr. Abdul Mottaleb for lab capabilities and fees. Email him at
