How To Post a Job or Internship

Career Services lists full-time or part-time positions, internships, and interviewing opportunities on Hire A Bearcat, an online recruiting system used by students, alumni, and employers. This system was designed with you in mind; it is straightforward, simple, and free.  Once you have registered for an account you can manage both postings and interview schedules in one location. Below are the guidelines for job/internship postings:
  • All positions require a complete job description, which should include: position summary, essential functions, minimum qualifications, preferred qualifications, working conditions, contact information, and application instructions. 
  • We must be able to obtain confirmation of your organization and/or vacancy from your website. 
  • Full-time positions must be career focused and require at least a bachelor’s degree. 
  • Part-time positions must be career focused and require the candidate to be in pursuit of a degree. 
  • Internship positions must be career focused and may be for credit or not-for credit.
  • No positions will ask for excessive outlay of personal candidate funding (fees) in order to obtain the position.
  • All third-party recruiters must adhere to our Third Party Recruiter Policy.

In an effort to increase efficiencies, we ask that you post your own positions to Hire A Bearcat.  By posting and managing your jobs, internships, and interview schedules personally, you guarantee that these opportunities will be advertised in a timely manner.  If you need assistance using the system, please contact our office at 660-562-1250 or

On-Campus Interviewing

Interviewing space is available to employers and school districts for "Interview Days" following Fall and Spring Career Days and Education Expo in the Spring. Employers may interview for full-time or internship positions. Employers may select the candidates they wish to speak with in advance by reviewing resumes prior to the career event or they may fill their schedule with the students they meet during the event. Employers may also interview candidates at any time during the year regardless of a career event. If your employer or school district would like to interview candidates, please complete an On-campus Recruiting Form or contact our Career Development Coordinator-Employer Relations or call 660.562.1343 to set up an interview schedule.

Resume Referrals

Career Services can match employers with a number of candidates that meet their company's needs through resume referrals. Contact Career Services with your requirements, which might include major, GPA, and graduation date. Our staff will mail, e-mail, or fax the resumes of qualified registered students to your company or school district. To use our resume referral service, contact Career Services at 660.562.1343.


Northwest students can go from the classroom to the workplace with ease. They know the value of real-world experience, and they aggressively seek out internships to augment their degree work. They participate in internships to test-drive potential careers, build marketable resumes and expand real-world skills. Pursue talented internship candidates at our career events, through on-campus recruitment visits or through resume referrals. Additionally, we can post your intern openings on Hire A Bearcat, which is easily accessible to all Northwest students.
