Last year Northwest Missouri State University along with Up ‘til Dawn raised over $38,000 for the Children at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Up 'til Dawn is a nationwide student-led philanthropic program in which college students raise funds for awareness of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Students participate in a year of online fundraising that culminates with the Big Event, an all-night challenge that brings all participants together.

Up 'til Dawn Big Event

Up 'til Dawn is a nationwide student-led philanthropic program in which college students raise funds for awareness of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Students participate in a year of online fundraising that culminates with the Big Event, an all-night challenge that brings all participants together.

How does it work?

  • Students form teams of six to participate in The Big Event.
  • Each participant must raise $100.
  • Fundraising efforts are email-based.  As a result, helping raise money has never been easier.  With one click, you can easily send out emails and donors can conveniently and securely donate to St. Jude online.

Northwest Missouri State University’s Up ‘til Dawn chapter is now collecting donations in anticipation of its annual Colden Pond Plunge to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  This year’s plunge is set for 2 p.m. Friday, Feb 21, at Colden Pond. The event is free and open to the public. This year, Maryville Public Safety also will provide free hot chocolate to those in attendance.

During the remaining days leading up to the Colden Pond Plunge, the Northwest community is invited to donate on behalf of any one of 17 Northwest students nominated to take the plunge. The five students who raise the most funds during the campaign will jump into the campus pond.  Members of Up ‘til Dawn are collecting donations between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday through Friday on the second floor of the J.W. Jones Student Union. Donations made by check should be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

All proceeds go to helping offset St. Jude’s operating costs and aiding St. Jude patients. Last year, Northwest raised more than $3,000 during its Colden Pond Plunge campaign.

2014-2015 Executive Board Applications

Now accepting applications for the 2014-2015 Executive Board

Available positions:

Executive Director:
The executive director is responsible for the overall management of the program and serves as the liaison between the executive Board and ALSAC, the community and campus. The Executive Director sets the tone and direction for the entire Up ‘til Dawn and must make sure all duties are being carried out to ensure a successful Up ‘til dawn.
Assistant Director:
The Assistant Director serves as the right hand of the Executive Director and helps assist with the overall management of the program. The Assistant Director also manages the upkeep of the Up ‘til Dawn headquarters, files, meeting minutes, etc., and is responsible for the planning of two St. Jude Awareness Weeks.
Big Event Co-Chairs (2 positions):
The Big Event co-chairs are responsible for the planning, organizating, and execution of Up 'til Dawn's largest event: The Big Event.  These individuals will be responsible for securing local and national sponsorships, working with the Up 'til Dawn advisor and campus personnel, and all areas of fundraising to ensure the Big Event is a success.  These individuals will work closely with the Recruitment co-chairs.
Side Events Co-Chairs (2 positions):
The Side Event Co-Chairs are responsible for the planning, organizing, and execution of Up 'til Dawn's monthly fundraisers.  In addition, these individuals will be responsible for Colden Pond Plunge and the 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament.
Publicity Chair:
The Publicity Chair is responsible for coordinating all publicity on campus and in the community.  This includes, but is not limited to, social media, websites, and on-campus advertising.
Recruitment Co-Chairs (2 positions):
The Recruitment Co-Chairs will be responsible for recruiting participants for The Big Event.  Each position will be further divided into specialized areas to ensure all students, faculty, staff, and administration are considered as particpants.  These groups include: student organizations (at large), Greek Life, Residential Life, Freshman, and Faculty/Staff.
