Each camp is limited to 48 players and acceptance is on a first-come, first-served basis

  • $400 per player (for overnight camper)
  • $200 Commuter (no lodging or meals)

Description

  • Opportunities to participate in intensive beginner, intermediate and advanced programs with top instructors – 25 hours of instruction.
  • Facilities include 9 Laykold outdoor championship courts (six are lighted), with ball machines and video playback equipment.
  • Each camper will receive a take-home progress analysis chart.
  • Housing, meals, insurance, nightly entertainment, a camp t-shirt and a group picture are included.
  • Supervised instruction and residence hall facilities.
  • Intensified Tennis Coaching (PE 510) is available to coaches and University students during any of the camps. For more information, contact Coach Rosewell at 660.562.1312.

A Proud Tennis Tradition

During recent tennis seasons, the Bearcat tennis program has become one of the most respected in NCAA Division II circles and holds many MIAA championships and rankings in NCAA Division II stats.

The teams are a blend of American and international student athletes receiving their education in the United States.

The Bearcat program has produced seven NCAA All-American players:

  • Yasmine Osborn, singles
  • David Imonitie, singles (twice)
  • Phil White, doubles
  • Ulf Hennig, doubles
  • Irene Nunez, All American 2019
  • Arik Kocak, doubles
  • Franco Olivia, 2019

Highlights of the program under Coach Mark Rosewell include a currently 24th ranked women's team in the country. The men have won nine MIAA championships, since 2010. In 1998, the men's team placed 14th in NCAA Division II and the women's team placed 22nd. In 1990, the men placed 17th in Division II, 20th in 1991 and 4th in 2009. The men were ranked 11th in 2011. The men made it to the Elite Eight in 2014. in 2015, the men's team was ranked 17th in the country. In 2016, the men's team earned a quarter final finish in the country. In 2019, the women's team advanced to quarter finals of national tournament!
