Pin Oak, Quercus palustris
Native. Leaves alternate, simple, 3 to 6 inches long and deeply lobed. Height to 70 feet. Is distinguishable from other oaks by its downward angled lower branches. Acorns are small and striped with dark lines. Favorite food of waterfowl along river borders, Widely planted.
