Northwest: Home to the

Northern China. Leaves are opposite, pinnately compound, 10 to 15 inches long with five to thirteen leaflets. Height to 45 feet. The unique bark has a ridged and furrowed cork-like pattern on mature trees. Fe¬male trees produce fruit that has a strong odor when bruised. Used in China to make furniture and gunstocks.
