Oregon Vine Maple, Acer circinatum
Multi-stemmed tree 10 to 20' range. Vancouver, British Columbia. Predominantly shrubby. Fall color is variable, ranging from yellow-orange to red, the new spring growth is reddish tinged. The reddish purple sepals subtend small dull white petals and conspicuous crimson bud scales. Red fruits about 1 1/2" long with the wings spreading horizontally. Found in moist woods. 'Monroe' has deeply cut leaves.
