Northwest: Home to the

Native. Leaves alternate, simple, heart-shaped, 5-6 inches long and 3-4 inches wide, with serrated edges. Clusters of fragrant cream-colored flowers are produced in June. Fruits are small nutlets, clustered beneath membranous bracts. The woods is soft, white, and easily worked.
