Horsechestnut, Aesculus hippocastanum
Greece. Leaves opposite, palmately compound with 5-7 leaflets, 5-10 inches long. Spiny capsules contain large seeds. Terminal buds are very sticky. This tree reaches heights of 75 feet and should be planted in parks, golf courses, and open areas. Large, white flowers in spring. Fruits have been fed to horses.
