Overcup Oak, Quercus lyrata
Southeast United States. Leaves alternate, simple, 6 to 8 inches long. Height to 45 feet. It has uni¬form branching and can thrive in confined spaces or on a slope. The name derives from the cup that almost encloses the nut.
