Matching Gifts

Matching Gifts

Thousands of Northwest alumni and friends work for companies that graciously match employees' gifts to charitable organizations. This is a perfect way to double, perhaps even triple, the impact of your gift to Northwest. Find out here if your employer matches your gift and the procedures to follow for obtaining such a match.

Planned Gifts

Planned Gifts

Planned gifts, sometimes called deferred gifts, are a method of making a charitable contribution in which some or all components of the gift are only distributed after some event or some period of time has passed, such as after a person's lifetime. A well-established planned gift can help allow the charitable gift to avoid estate taxes that may apply if the gift is instead included in the donor's estate. Planned giving mechanisms also can provide benefits for the donor during his or her lifetime, including tax deductions and income.

Major Gifts

Major Gifts

Major gifts are gifts above and beyond annual gifts and typically fulfill a pledge made over several years. These types of gifts help support certain project-specific initiatives such as buildings and program creation, but also include endowed scholarships or professorships. These gifts can come in many forms - cash, securities, stock transfers, etc.

Scholarship Gifts

Scholarship Gifts

Over 30% of Northwest's students are first-generation college students. Many provide a majority of their own educational costs. As the cost of higher education continues to rise, today's high school students know scholarships may be the determining factor if a college education is in their future.
