Keys To Past Success
Quality Student-Athletes: Bearcat football student-athletes are scholars first, as demonstrated by their 85 percent NCAA Academic Success Rate. In addition, they are positive representatives of the University.
Quality Coaching Staff: The quality of the coaching staff is represented by former Head Coach Mel Tjeerdsma's 17-year tenure and the unprecedented continuity of the coaching staff, even after his retirement in 2010. Head Coach Adam Dorrel and his staff continue to demand high standards of excellence and recruit quality student-athletes.
Quality Championship Facilities: A championship caliber program necessitates championship caliber facilities. Thanks to the generous support of Northwest alumni and friends, Bearcat Stadium was renovated in 2003 to provide one of the premiere Division II stadiums in the country. The stadium renovation was followed by the addition of artificial turf and lights in 2007, which allows for greater flexibility in scheduling both games and practices.

Northwest and its football program have enjoyed a long, proud tradition.
Athletics play a key role in the total experience of students' lives at Northwest. With their high visibility, athletics serve the University as a rallying point for students, faculty, alumni and fans. In order to continue the proud tradition that is Bearcat football, we need your support!

Dear Bearcats,
Thank you for your tremendous support of the Bearcat football program. I honestly believe that the strong and continued support our program receives from dedicated Northwest alumni and friends is second to none and is vital in keeping our program among the elite Division II programs in the nation.
As we all know, getting to the top is difficult. Staying at the top - which is the goal for Bearcat football - is even more difficult. In order to accomplish this goal, we need your help.
Please consider supporting the Champions Fund. The fund has been established not only to honor our 2009 NCAA Division II Football National Championship, but also to support our Bearcat football program into the future. Private support is essential in order for us to maintain and build upon the proud tradition of Bearcat football.

The Champions Fund needs a number of "players" at the following levels:
- Hall of Fame: $25,000+
- Champion: $10,000 to $24,999
- All American: $5,000 to $9,999
- Legend: $1,000 to $4,999
- MVP: $100 to $999
