Members of the St. Louis Chapter donated their time by picking up recyclables at Busch Stadium and, when not collecting bottles and cans, were able to catch a little bit of the game between the St. Louis Cardinals and Milwaukee Brewers. Chapter members also attended a River City Rascals baseball game and met at Montelle Winery where they enjoyed wine, cheese and crackers and listened to a local band. In December the chapter hosted a watch party for the national championship football game.
In February, the St. Louis Chapter hosted a watch party to cheer on the Bearcat men's basketball team in its game against the University of Central Missouri. The chapter also held a family bowling event, and, in May, celebrated its first anniversary with a social at Ozzie's Sports Bar. Northwest alumni and friends participated in an August happy hour at Fast Eddie's and are planning a holiday social in December.
Members of the St. Louis Chapter met in October at the new Chandler Hills Vineyard for a wine tasting and discussion about grape growing, wine making and the differences between area wineries. The chapter also met at Ozzie's Sport Bar and Grill in December to watch the Bearcat football team compete in the semifinal and national championship games. In addition, the chapter sponsored a holiday social and raised $270 for Little Wishes, a program that grants Christmas wishes for St. Louis children in foster care.
The St. Louis Alumni & Friends Chapter was chartered on May 15, 2008. The charter event was held at Ozzie's Restaurant and Sports Bar. There were over 40 people in attendance for the kickoff event.
