Chapter Updates

Fall 2011

The Maryville Chapter partnered with Northwest's Student Activities Council and handed out popcorn and water to attendees at the free summer movies on campus. Plans are being made for a trivia night in October.

Spring 2011

The Maryville Chapter sponsored a social at Carson's in October as well as a wine and beer tasting event at the Alumni House in November. In January, the chapter hosted a pizza party prior to the women's and men's Bearcat basketball games. The chapter's annual Super Bowl party took place in February at the Maryville Country Club, and attendees donated items to the Maryville food pantry. Coming up, the chapter will coordinate a Trivia Night, which supports its chapter scholarship, and chapter members will serve free popcorn during the summer movie series on campus.

Fall 2010

The Maryville Chapter held its first Trivia Night in April, and more than $1,000 was raised for the chapter's scholarship. In June, the chapter partnered with Northwest's Student Activities Council and handed out complimentary popcorn and water to attendees at the on-campus summer movies hosted by the Office of Campus Activities.

The Maryville Alumni and Friends Chapter Trivia Night winning team members were Dr. Bob Bohlken, Brock Pfost, Mary Bohlken '74, Jessica O'Rourke Loch '72, Bill Loch, Karen Pfost, Barry Beacom and Claudia Beacom '05.

Spring 2010

The Maryville Chapter hosted a wine and beer tasting in November. The following month the chapter sponsored a pizza party prior to the Northwest women's and men's basketball games and asked attendees to bring school supplies for the local schools. Three national championship game watch parties also were sponsored by the Maryville chapter. The chapter held its annual Super Bowl Party in February at the Maryville Country Club and attendees brought non-perishable food items for the local food pantry.

Summer 2009

The Maryville Chapter conducted raffles at five Bearcat basketball games to raise money for its scholarship and provided free popcorn at three of the free summer movies on campus hosted by the Student Activities Council. In July, the chapter attended a Kansas City Wizards soccer game, and in August chapter members hosted a water station for freshmen and their families as students moved into the residence halls. In addition, the chapter has a wine and beer tasting event scheduled for Sept. 24 at the Alumni House.

The Maryville Chapter sponsored a wine and beer tasting event at the Alumni House in November, and the following month the chapter held a pizza party prior to the Northwest basketball games. The chapter also hosted its annual Super Bowl Party in February at the Maryville Country Club. Upcoming events include a summer movie and a Kansas City T-Bones game.

Winter 2008

As in previous years, the Maryville Chapter provided free bottled water to new Bearcats and their families as freshmen moved into their residence halls. Assisting with the water station are Paul Wilmes '75, John Van Cleave '73, '89, Steve Sutton '71 and Jim Fall.

Summer 2008

The Maryville Chapter elected new officers: Paul Wilmes '75, president; John Van Cleave '73, '89, vice president; and Jamie Lindsay Long '93, '98, secretary. The chapter co-sponsored a free movie night on campus with the Student Activities Council. During this event, the chapter provided free water and popcorn.

Marvyille

Winter 2007

The Maryville Alumni and Friends Chapter continues to gather for monthly socials at Carson's Sports Grille on the second Thursday of each month. The chapter hosted the Summer Bash reunion at the Alumni House and, as the freshmen were moving into their residence halls, chapter members distributed complimentary water to the newest Bearcats and their families. In October, the chapter participated in Northwest's Homecoming parade with members of other Northwest alumni chapters. Spring 2007

The Maryville Alumni and Friends Chapter sponsor a 5 p.m. monthly social the second Thursday of each month at Carson's Sports Grille. The chapter organized its annual Super Bowl Party in February, and the money raised at the event benefits the chapter scholarship. In July, the chapter will host Summer Bash in Maryville. Spring 2006

Members of the Maryville Chapter hosted a Super Bowl party in February at the Maryville Country Club. Chapter members and Bearcat fans attended several watch parties throughout Maryville for the NCAA Division II National Championship football game. The Northwest Missouri State University Alumni Association is establishing alumni chapters worldwide. Organized by alumni volunteers and supported by the Office of Alumni Relations, these chapters sponsor a variety of activities for alumni to get together socially and stay abreast of news from Northwest Missouri State University.
