Winter 2006

Band Alumni Day

Williams '74, '90 enjoyed 2006 Band Alumni Day.

 

Scholarship recipient

Bill Williams '76, Band Alumni president, congratulates Matthew Willis, the
recipient of the Al Sergel Band Scholarship.

Alumni Band Day was Sept. 2, and alumni gathered to visit friends and perform with the Bearcat Marching Band. The alumni joined the BMB for pregame and halftime performances. Jack Williams '74, '90 directed the combined bands. Chapter president Bill Williams '76 led the chapter's luncheon at the J.W. Jones Student Union. The Alfred E. Sergel III Scholarship was awarded to Matt Willis, a trumpet player from Grain Valley. The C. Ward Rounds Scholarship is close to endowment. The day ended with a barbecue social with the alumni, BMB seniors and Kappa Kappa Psi seniors. The chapter sends a sincere thank you to Director of Bands Carl Kling. Band alumni also followed the BMB along the Homecoming parade route

 


 

Summer 2006

The Band Alumni Chapter held its quarterly meeting in St. Joseph on Feb. 19. The next Northwest Band Alumni Day is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 2, when the Bearcat football team plays Minnesota State-Mankato at 1 p.m. For more information about the Band Alumni Chapter, e-mail nbaa_1@hotmail.com.

 

The Northwest Missouri State University Alumni Association is establishing alumni chapters worldwide. Organized by alumni volunteers and supported by the Office of Alumni Relations, these chapters sponsor a variety of activities for alumni to get together socially and stay abreast of news from Northwest Missouri State University.
