The Tourin' Bearcats travel program for Northwest alumni and friends will be returning to the slopes of Colorado for the fourth annual Bearcat ski trip.
The trip is Jan. 6-10, 2010, and includes three days of skiing the Summit (Keystone, Breckenridge and Arapahoe Basin) and three nights lodging at Keystone's River Run Village Condominiums, just steps away from the gondola.
Those wishing to participate in the Northwest Alumni Association-sponsored ski trip are encouraged to reserve their space as soon as possible. A $200 deposit must be submitted by Monday, Nov. 2.
Trip cost starts at $539 per person for skiers, and several package options are available for both skiers and non-skiers. Final payment is due Dec. 4, and checks, including the $200 deposit, should be made out to Cotter Travel and mailed to Northwest Missouri State University, Alumni House, 800 University Drive, Maryville, MO 64468. Additional trip details, including cost, are available at www.nwmissouri.edu/alumni/travel/skitrip.htm .
A motorcoach will pick travelers up in Maryville on the morning of Wednesday, Jan. 6, before heading to the Rocky Mountains. Additional pickup locations may become available. The bus will leave Colorado late afternoon on Saturday, Jan. 9, returning by mid-morning on Sunday, Jan. 10.
Steve Sutton, director of alumni relations, said Northwest alumni and friends continue to express considerable interest in this kind of skiing excursion. He emphasized that the trip is open to the public, not just graduates of the University.
"We've had a tremendous response to the Tourin' Bearcats program," Sutton said. "We're making a concerted effort to offer a good selection of trips at several price levels that appeal to a variety of age groups."
