Lasting Legacies

Dr. Patricia VanDyke
Dr. Patricia VanDyke

"The recipients of the Trailblazer Scholarship have absolutely delighted me with their intelligence, motivation and character. I am grateful for the chance to touch the future through an endowed scholarship and for the opportunity to begin this legacy in my lifetime."

Retired in 2001 after 31 years of service to Northwest, Dr. Patt VanDyke remains an active member of the Northwest community. She is a regular at Bearcat athletic events and cultural activities and proudly wears the green and white everywhere she goes.

VanDyke has established the Trailblazer Scholarship Program to help current and future generations of Northwest students and has ensured the legacy of the program by creating a planned gift that will endow it forever.

The Northwest Foundation created the James H. Lemon Heritage Society to recognize the many outstanding alumni and friends who have created a planned or deferred gift which will ultimately benefit Northwest. There is no minimum level gift required. Today, the Lemon Society has more than 100 members, and it grows stronger every year.
