As a former president of the Northwest Foundation, Phil Patterson of Urbandale, Iowa, is keenly aware of the benefits of private support for the University. Phil is a manager in the chief technology office for BP. He and his wife, Margaret, are the parents of three children, John, Patrick and Claire.
